Cognitive assessment

A cognitive assessment provides a structured and comprehensive understanding of how a person thinks, learns, and processes information.

A cognitive assessment can help clarify intellectual strengths, identify areas where support may be beneficial, and guide recommendations for education, work, or daily functioning.

Cognitive assessments are available for children, adolescents, and adults. The assessment process evaluates how an individual approaches thinking and problem solving across several areas of cognitive functioning.

During the assessment, a range of abilities may be explored, including verbal reasoning, visual spatial problem solving, working memory, processing speed, and attention. Together, these areas create a detailed cognitive profile, highlighting both strengths and areas that may require additional support.

Cognitive assessments can be helpful when there are questions about intellectual ability, learning capacity, academic difficulties, or developmental concerns. They may also assist in identifying intellectual disability, giftedness, or other cognitive differences.

Following the assessment, a comprehensive written report is provided. This report outlines the assessment results, explains the interpretation of findings, and includes recommendations for appropriate supports or next steps where relevant.
